i missed all but the first three weeks of snowboarding season this year 'cause of a broken arm, so now that it's spring, i'm comping at the bit for hiking to state. we went to boulder river last weekend and are preparing for some overnight backpacking later in the season. i'm so happy to be back outside.

okay so i'm up for a good debate sometimes. but seriously, as soon as i present a fact - like an actual proven fact - and you deny that it exists based on your own beliefs, i will end the argument right there. stop. shut up. argument's over. next topic.
i've been eating way too much pizza lately.

I'm still around. broke my shoulder in a snowboarding fall and can't use my laptop. I'll be back later when I'm not interneting on my phone all day.

i love that i have a fancy phone this year so i can take pictures while i'm taking a break.

thanksgiving came and went. we spend the whole day indoors and never got dressed. it was magical. matt and i do not have family anywhere nearby, so i was cooking for two. i made a beer brine (Red Hook IPA) for the turkey the day before, and then cooked it in the crock pot all day, so there was little for me to do other than sit around and drink. i made a red wine gravy from scratch, as well as from-scratch stuffing and cranberry sauce, and some chopped veggies that had been stewing all day underneath the turkey/holding the turkey just out of the stock. topped it off with a frozen peach pie from the grocery store.

we're going over to a coworker's today for a leftover party, which i'm fairly certain will just be the three of us. that's cool, though. i have a bottle of scotch to help keep us warm in the dreary weather. having 4 days off work is amazing.

snoqualmie summit is about a week away from opening. so pretty soon, all of my entries will be about snowboarding. i am very excited.

so over the last several years since i've been taking my brain medications regularly, it has been nearly impossible for me to draw. this has been a major struggle for me as i have kept some form of a sketchbook since i was in the 5th grade. i still have one on me at all times, even though i have not drawn in it in over a year. it's been difficult to find an outlet, and i'm very thankful that i have a design job where i can zone out and work things out that way. i don't know what i'd do without it.

lately, i've been finding that i have been able to be really creative when i cook. it gives me a lot of the same satisfaction as drawing - having an idea in my head and then seeing it through successfully. i've also found that i have a natural intuition for it. it's weird 'cause my whole life, i've always been such a terrible cook; but i'm all of a sudden totally awesome at it and i always blow everyone away with my amazing recipes. i'm not even kidding.

you guys this thanksgiving is gonna own. i'm very excited for mimosas and stuffing.

omg you guys. for the first time in literally a decade, when i posted this entry, livejournal did not pester me to update my password because 'it's too easy to guess'. pshaw fuck off livejournal.
dear people in the northeast,

as someone who was born and raised on the gulf coast, please know that we feel ya. just use common sense and be safe out there.
i planted this vegetable/herb garden a while back and i ate most of it. i composted the rest and then replanted some new veggies for the fall. i want to eat them, but i have to wait for them to grow first. it suuuuucks.

i lost another friend to cancer yesterday.

i just noticed that every sentence in this post started with "i". i guess that's what a blog is for though, right?
